It's Time to Make Fire Cider!

ITS TIME TO MAKE FIRE CIDER!

This powerful herbal remedy keeps you healthy and fired up during the cold, dark, and dreary winter months. Fire Cider is immunity boosting and pathogen blocking. It is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, and anti-biotic. Basically it keeps everything that’s going to make you sick away.

The primary recipe is root vegetables such as onion, garlic, ginger, horseradish, and turmeric along with hot peppers infused in apple cider vinegar. Of course there are hundreds of variations including adding citrus, rosemary, rosehips, nettle, black pepper, thyme, parsley, or anything else you feel called to add.

MAKING YOUR FIRE CIDER: Chop up the veggies + herbs and fill up a jar 3/4 of the way with them. Allow your intuition to decide on portions. Then fill the jar to the top with organic, raw apple cider vinegar. Place a piece of wax paper on the top of the jar and screw on the lid. Shake your fire cider! Let this jar sit in a cool dark space, like a kitchen cabinet away from the stove, for 4-6 weeks shaking it regularly. After the fire cider is done infusing, strain out the plant material through cheesecloth and a colander. Give the herbs a good squeeze in the cheesecloth to get out every last drop. Done! Jar and label your fire cider.

There are many ways to ingest fire cider including: taking a shot every morning (add honey if it’s too sour), use it in salad dressing, drizzle on sautéed veggies, and my favorite is to splash some fire cider into tomato or veggie soup. Yum!

But of course the best way to stay healthy year round is to practice holistic self care. This includes getting enough sleep, eating nutritious foods, moving your body, and practicing mindfulness + meditation.

Your immunity begins in your energetic field. When that energetic field is vibrant, healthy, and whole, unwanted pathogens aren’t able to make a home in your physical body. However, when you’re not taking care of your self, are stressed out, not eating or sleeping appropriately colds and sickness have an easier time infecting you.

Taking care of yourself with yoga, meditation, and herbalism is the best investment you can make towards your wellbeing!
